Earlier, when these products were not invented people used to do skincare with natural products available at home. For face pack/masks:

Life was normal before the covid-19 pandemic, in these times, we cannot go out of the home for anything except groceries and medicines. Going to the salon isn’t a good option. So, the beauty regime at home and DIY’s can be tried out for almost everything. Further for, skincare everything can be found in the kitchen. Pamper yourself with these homemade face masks

  • Take a medium-sized banana, mash and make a fine paste, then gently apply it on your face for 10 to 20 minutes, rinse it with cold water. This will give natural moisturization to the skin.
  • Take ¼ cup yogurt, 2 tbsp honey, and 1 banana, make a smooth paste and apply gently on the skin.

  • Wheat/Gram flour mixed with curd can be the best face mask ever.
  • To cleanse and tighten the pores use plain curd and gently apply on your face for 20 minutes you can add aloe vera or natural juices to refresh and revitalize your skin,

Beauty tip: Take a bowl full of ice and cold water, dip your face into it. This cold water dip would close all your pores after the facial process.

The facial or body polishing process is incomplete without moisturizers, serums, facial oils and sunscreen.

Moisturizers nourish the skin, provide enough hydration and give instant glow and shine. A few of the DIY’s are:-

  • Use ½ cup organic coconut oil to make coconut oil moisturizer, to that add, 1 capsule of Vitamin E and 12 drops of essential oil of your choice.
  • Use ½ cup olive oil to make an olive oil moisturizer, to that add, 2tbsp coconut oil, 1 tbsp beeswax, and 2 Vitamin E capsule.
  • Use 4tbsp aloe vera gel to make aloe vera moisturizer, to that add, 2bsp coconut and almond oil and 1 tsp vitamin e oil.

It is recommended to use sunscreen after applying serum and moisturizer in the daytime. Last but not the least, the best part is using serum and facial oil, which penetrates the skin and heal the damaged skin at night. It is vital to do this cleaning process twice a day.

 Home remedy for serum is:

  • Any facial oil/ carrier oil mixed with aloe vera/glycerine/rosewater and 10 -12 essential oil drops
  • For sunscreen, there is no such home remedy as with natural products, SPF, zinc and other chemicals need to be added. But the truth is, various herbal products are coming up in the market, instead of going for chemically formulated brands go for herbal and “pahadi” products such as forest essentials, kama Ayurveda or pahadi local.

To conclude, it is highly important to take overall care of health and skin by eating right, exercise and being hydrated. Using natural products can soothe the skin while using beauty products that have substances that can damage the outer layer of the skin causing irritation and skin diseases.
