8 Super-Foods to Eat During Cancer Treatment

 How important it is to decide what to eat during cancer treatment?  What to eat and what are the basic guidelines to eat are important for cancer patients? Surely, no food can cure cancer. But can reduce the chances of growth. Having a healthy plate of food is a key to good health.

Chemotherapy, radiation can be stiff on your body. So, it is mandatory to make healthy food choices that can help you feel better and speed your recovery. What should eat during the treatment of Cancer? It is recommended to have a specially balanced diet that an oncologist suggests. Lack of appetite is common during the treatment even it makes the taste of food unpleasant.

Super-food for cancer:

Prevention is the best medicine to cure any type of disease. Many studies show that certain foods, herbs, fruits can reduce or reverse the disease. A balanced diet plays an important role during cancer treatment. Diet should include proteins, carbs, cellulose and fats. It helps in fighting infections. It helps to cope up with treatment-related stress. Super-foods for cancer are:

  1. Garlic: Garlic contains powerful antioxidants. Garlic is a wonderful root vegetable that can induce the death of cancer cells. Even it can reduce the production rate of cancer cells that will reduce the progression of cancer cells in the body. It boosts immunity, lower blood pressure and cholesterol levels. It is suggested by the oncologist to use raw or cooked garlic in your favourite dishes.
  2. Grapes: Grapes have unique properties to reduce cancer cells. It is suggested to eat grapes with seeds.
  3. Tomatoes: Tomatoes have vitamin C and antioxidants that prevent the cellular damage that leads to cancer. Tomatoes contain lycopene that prevents mouth cancer cells. It is recommended to eat fresh tomatoes, increased intake of tomatoes can reduce the chances of breast, pancreas and prostate cancer.

  2. Always eat whole wheat bread, rice and cereals
  3. Eat the mix of all fruits throughout the day.
  4. Have green salad twice a day unless you have been told to avoid the raw foods.
  5. Eat small meals throughout the day even if you don’t have an appetite.
  6. Eat small six meals instead of three major meals.
  7. Choose high calories foods such as nuts, beans, cooked cereals.
  8. Avoid oily, spicy and deep-fried food.
  9. Add eggs and pulses to lunch and dinner.
  10. Avoid outside food and stale food.
  11. Drink plenty of water even if you feel nausea or vomiting.

Eating well and healthy during treatment will help you to feel better, heal and recover faster. Healthy food keeps up your energy and strength. It lowers the risk of infection.

To summarise, a balanced diet with good nutrition is important if you have cancer. They can also affect the way your body reacts to certain foods and uses nutrients. During cancer treatment, there is a need to change the diet to help build up strength to withstand the effects of the cancer treatment. 9 Foods that Cause Cancer to the Human Body

 Having a healthy and balanced diet plan for cancer is a must. But some foods are inducing the growth of cancer cells in the human body. You have to check these foods and avoid adding them to your daily diet. Eating healthy foods does not only add nutrients to your body but improves your health and immune system. If you are healthy, it doesn’t mean you should eat whatever you like to eat. 

Following an unhealthy lifestyle leads to the birth of lifestyle-related diseases like diabetes, thyroid, cancer, and Blood pressure. There are certain foods everyone should avoid to protect the body from diseases. They are known as cancer-causing foods.

  1. Refined sugar: Sugar is a sweetener used in every kitchen but it is not as sweet. It absorbs vitamins and other nutrients from the body. Refined sugar encourages the birth of cancer cells in the body. It has no nutritional value. It is a slow poison itself.

Chemicals are used to preserve them for a longer time. These chemicals have a direct link to the growth of cancer cells.   4. Microwave Popcorn: Packs used for microwave popcorn contain acids and chemicals that prevent the oil to seep out while heating in the microwave. Popcorn absorbs those chemicals while heating process. Even the workers packing these bags have a higher risk of developing cancer. Otherwise, popcorn contains potassium, iron, and fiber, it is best to cook in the cooker than to use microwave popcorn.
  5. Potatoes chips: Potato chips and French fries are the common foods for all generations to eat. Potatoes react adversely when they are cooked and heated up in high flames. Snacks, chips, and fries contain high trans fats that lead to a high risk of breast cancer.
  6. Alcohol: Alcohol is related to affect directly to the liver of the body. It leads to liver poisoning and liver cancer. It is always recommended that Alcohol consumption is injurious to health.  It is very easy to recommend to someone what to eat and what not to eat, but it is difficult to follow these habits to avoid eating cancer-causing foods. There are some tips you can follow to keep yourself healthy from cancer. Vitamin D from foods and exposure to sunlight may protect against breast cancer. It is mandatory to maintain a healthy body weight to prevent the recurrence of breast cancer. Exercise is very essential for all. People who exercise for more than 4 hours per week have a low risk of breast cancer. Even talking to other people with the same condition, exchanging recipes, and sharing stories about which foods have helped may be beneficial. You can learn a lot from their experiences.
